WAKE OF THE RAINBOW WARRIOR' A Brief Synopsis
The early action takes part in New Zealand following the bombing of the Rainbow Warrior. Hearing of the capture of the two saboteurs, the hero, Colonel Nyles St. John Hawkspurr, (the central character and hero of the series) feels at least a small measure of justice was meted out on November, 22, 1985, when the pair were sentenced to 10 years for manslaughter and seven years for willful damage, the term to be concurrent. The New Zealand government later released the terrorists to serve out their time on a French Pacific atoll. But just before the French Presidential election in early May 1986, both returned to Paris free and honored. The first words in the book express Hawkspurr’s disgust at the lack of justice and the blatant arrogance of the French. With his manservant, a Sikh called Malik, an outline of a plan is formed to bring the male saboteur Mafart, now a Lieutenant-Colonel, back to New Zealand to complete his sentence. In the style of a ripping good yarn, we follow Hawkspurr to overseas destinations where he calls on old friends from his army days to help seek out the enemy.
His understanding of how the terrorists work, think and act all come through to the reader, as does his knowledge of arms, be it guns, knives or swords. The main central fictitious Hawkspurr of the Hawkspurr Action Adventure Series becomes a believable character, a leader in an age when leaders have often become faceless, he draws his team together as they move toward France and the capture of their quarry. Locations and many events are authentic, the author has obviously been there in a military capacity.

He decides to bring the perpetrator back to complete his sentence, and to this end decides to gather his old comrades to assist him, including the New Zealander Doctor Harry Faulconer. He then learns that the mastermind behind the operation is an old antagonist, Gunter Von Harzburg and vows to bring him to justice in New Zealand. His travels and subsequent adventures take him to Australia, Hong Kong, Borneo, Kenya, Italy, Cyprus, Jersey, France, Egypt, and the Sudanese desert. Thrilling in its authentic action, with a romantic element, descriptions of indigenous peoples and their life style, and real-life characters to satisfy the most discerning reader.
